WeTryOn

Shoppers see themselves wearing your products on live video. WeTryOn adds a Try it on button to your Shopify product pages: a shopper agrees to a short notice, allows their camera, and sees themselves wearing the product in real time — moving and turning while it runs. Setup is one theme block, with no theme code to edit.

Why it exists

The problem WeTryOn solves

The problem

Apparel shoppers can't tell how a garment will look on them from a flat product photo. Existing “virtual try-on” apps generate a single still image from an uploaded photo — slow, static, and dependent on uploading a picture of yourself to someone's server.

The product

WeTryOn streams live video from the shopper's own camera and renders the garment on them in real time, labelled as AI-generated while it runs. Nothing is uploaded or prepared in advance, every try-on ends by itself after 15 seconds, and the video never reaches WeTryOn's servers — it streams from the shopper's browser straight to the AI providers, and no copy is kept.

Capabilities

What WeTryOn does

Every capability below ships in the product today — nothing on a roadmap slide.

Live video, not a still image

Shoppers see themselves wearing the item on their own camera feed. They can move and turn while it runs — nothing to upload and nothing to wait for.

One theme block to install

Added from your theme editor and removed the same way. The app gives you a one-click link that opens the editor with the block ready to add.

Consent first, every time

A written notice explains what happens and names who receives the video. The browser only asks for the camera after the shopper agrees — and asks every time, never just once.

Never our servers

Video streams from the shopper's browser straight to the AI providers. It never reaches WeTryOn's servers, and no copy is kept.

Under 6 KB on the page

A small script and its stylesheet, both from Shopify's CDN. The try-on code only downloads after a shopper taps — nothing is fetched on an ordinary page view.

Per-product analytics

Try-ons and unique browsers for your top 25 products, counted anonymously. Customer accounts are never read.

Predictable by design

Every try-on is 15 seconds on every plan, so the number on your plan is the number you get. Switch try-ons off at any time.

No surprise bills

When included try-ons run out they stop by default until the next billing period — or turn on pay-as-you-go with a ceiling you choose.

§ 03

The try-on, in three screens

What the shopper sees

A button, a notice, and a live view — the entire experience, with no account to make and nothing to install.

1 · Tap Try it on

The button sits on your product page next to Add to cart.

2 · Agree to the notice

It says what happens and names who receives the video, before the camera is requested.

3 · See it live

Live video from their camera, labelled as AI-generated, ending by itself after 15 seconds.

Answers

WeTryOn: common questions

Does it slow my store down?

Before a shopper taps, all that loads is a small script and its stylesheet — under 6 KB together, served from Shopify's CDN. The try-on code only downloads on the tap.

Where does the shopper's video go?

Straight from their browser to the AI providers that generate the live try-on. It never reaches WeTryOn's servers, and no copy is kept. The providers are contractually limited to providing the service — no selling, no sharing, deletion required.

What happens when I use up my included try-ons?

Try-ons stop until your next billing period begins, unless you turn on pay-as-you-go — in which case extra try-ons are billed at your plan's rate up to a maximum you set. Nothing keeps running and quietly billing you.

Do I need to edit my theme code?

No. WeTryOn is a single theme block, added and removed from the theme editor. The app's one-click link opens the editor with the block ready to add.
